Many of my clients belong to the millennial 's generation. They often come from out of State, and go through the process of adaptation to New York City. Some work for start-ups, or have launched their own start-up.

Others are:

  • Software engineers, or work in media jobs
  • Editors, activists, non-profit people, or social workers
  • Attorneys, investment bankers, or work for financial institutions
  • Doctors

The professional experience with millennials gives me an understanding of the:

  • Particular challenges they encounter
  • Symptoms of depression and anxiety they experience
  • Coping mechanisms, and how they sooth their anxiety
  • Emotional difficulties that living in New York City pose, and how to move ahead with their long term goals
  • Emotional impact of student loans that makes them feeling insecure about the future as it feels hard to get ahead
  • Component of social media and being in the digital age contributes to a sense of isolation

Millennials have different priorities in life compared to their parents or other generations. They often choose to invest their money differently; for example they like to spend on travel, food, or life experiences, rather than buying a home.

Or simply, they don't have as much discretionary income as previous generations; the money that their parents spent on a mortgage for a new home now goes towards student loans.

Our focus will be on:

  • Work related stress and anxiety, and how your means of managing this pressure affect your professional and personal life
  • Feelings of depression, hopelessness, and isolation
  • Social anxiety
  • Self-esteem
  • Job performance; focus, and attention to details
  • Student loans
  • Adult ADD/ADHD
  • Asserting yourself; and having confidence in your skills and personality
  • Interacting with peers, supervisors, and managers
  • Long term career plans; career challenges; career changes; making wise choices
  • Balancing professional and personal life
  • Self-destructive behaviors, including sexual compulsive behaviors , and alcohol abuse
  • Sexuality
